I remember him saying that I only looked like I could kick people’s ass. He thought more weight would be needed. Regarding the role he played at age 24, D’Onofrio noted, “I think it went up to 80 pounds…from 200 to 280.”\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nD’Onofrio had to withstand the rigors of the film’s boot-camp sequences after gaining some weight.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nObstacle courses would have been easy for him given his athletic build, but at 280 pounds they were extremely difficult.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nD’Onofrio faced criticism for his skillful portrayal of the mentally unstable, obese, and stupid Leonardo, but he also had to deal with fans who believed he was the real Leonardo.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nPeople see you differently when you’re that big, and I went from being a long, lean actor to a big, muscular guy with a bald head because, as you may remember, I shaved my head. It was a really special turning point in my life. The Broken Horses star continued: “It changed my life.” The women avoided looking at me, preferring that I watch their backs while they ran away. People who thought I was stupid commented on me twice.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nA year later, the Magnificent Seven star’s body has grown back to its original size and grown a full head of hair.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe New York-born actor, producer, screenwriter, and filmmaker, who wrote the book “Pigs Can’t Look Up” in 2023, credits Stanley Kubrick with helping him to a longer career.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nD’Onofrio’s parents’ separation had a big impact on him as a young child. His mother married a well-known American writer and producer named George Meyer.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAs a result, the family moved to the Hialeah area of \u200b\u200bFlorida.
